Samsung has quietly introduced the Galaxy Book 5 Edge, a new thin and light laptop that uses a Snapdragon chip but stands out with its built-in 5G connectivity. This is an important feature that the Galaxy Book 4 Edge launched last year, did not have, making this new version a more attractive option for users who are often on the go.
The Galaxy Book 5 Edge is now listed on Samsung UK for £949. Although the name suggests a completely new generation, in reality, this is almost a Galaxy Book 4 Edge with added 5G connectivity. If the machine uses the Snapdragon X2 Elite chip, it will be more complete, but the current version still retains the familiar configuration.

The machine has a 15.6-inch Full HD LCD screen with anti-glare coating, 2MP webcam, dual 1.5W speakers supporting Dolby Atmos, and dual mics. Samsung equipped a full-size keyboard, a large multi-touch trackpad, and an integrated fingerprint sensor.
Inside is an octa-core Snapdragon X processor, Adreno GPU, and Hexagon NPU with AI processing capability up to 45 TOPS. The device comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB eUFS memory, enough to meet most work and entertainment needs. Galaxy Book 5 Edge runs Windows 11 Home and supports a series of features in the Samsung ecosystem, such as Bixby, Buds Auto Switch, Multi Control, Quick Share, Samsung Gallery, Samsung Notes, Samsung Pass, Second Screen, and SmartThings.

In terms of connectivity, the laptop has a microSD slot and a SIM slot for 5G network, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, two USB 4.0 Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm headphone port. Power comes from a 61.2Wh battery that supports 65W charging, with a maximum usage time of up to 27 hours according to Samsung. The device weighs 1.66kg and measures 356.6 x 229.8 x 15.5mm, keeping the compact spirit of the Galaxy Book line.
