Samsung continues to roll out the August 2025 security patch, this time for two Fan Edition smartphones, the Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy S24 FE. After appearing in some markets earlier this month, the update is now available in Europe and will soon spread to many other regions. Neither device is included in the One UI 8 Beta testing list, which will be expanded to more models in the coming weeks.
The new update for the Galaxy S24 FE and S23 FE is developed based on Android 15 with One UI 7. According to the information, the Galaxy S24 FE comes with firmware S721BXXS7BYH1, while the Galaxy S23 FE receives version S711BXXSAEYH1. The update focuses on improving stability, patching a series of security vulnerabilities in Android and One UI. No new features are added, which is quite familiar with monthly patches.
Samsung is currently developing One UI 8 based on Android 16 for this duo. However, users will not experience the beta version but will have to wait until the official stable version is released, possibly in October. Samsung plans to start releasing the stable One UI 8 from September, but will first prioritize the high-end Galaxy S25, S24, and S23 series.
Although there are no major changes, the August 2025 update for the Galaxy S24 FE and S23 FE still plays an important role, helping the device operate more smoothly and securely before entering the major upgrade with One UI 8. Users can check manually by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install if they have not received a notification.
