After a slow start in the first two months, Samsung is now ramping up its One UI 8 Beta testing program based on Android 16. The company has just officially confirmed that it is expanding the program beyond the Galaxy S25 series, including some mid-range smartphones.

Starting next week, users of the Galaxy S24, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 devices in India, South Korea, the US, and the UK will start receiving the One UI 8 Beta update. Samsung also confirmed that more devices will join the testing in the coming weeks.

Full list of Galaxy devices that will get the One UI 8 Beta:

  • Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6
  • Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy A55, A54
  • Galaxy A36, A35

It's worth noting that the Galaxy A56 is not on the list, despite being recently launched. Samsung has not confirmed whether this model will be added later or removed from the testing phase. Currently, the Galaxy A56 has only appeared in the US market, quite a while after its global launch.

This is also Samsung's first expansion announcement since the company launched the One UI 8 Beta for the Galaxy S25 series a few months ago. While the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE launched with One UI 8 pre-installed, there’s no official word on plans to roll it out to other models.

If you’re using an eligible device in a supported region, you can sign up for the beta by doing the following:

  • Download and open the Samsung Members app
  • Sign in with the Samsung account associated with your device
  • Tap the One UI 8 Beta banner
  • Sign up for the beta update

Once you’ve signed up, simply head to Settings > Software update > Download and install to upgrade to One UI 8 Beta. Samsung is expected to start rolling out the stable version in September. SamCafe will continue to update as more information becomes available.
