Following the recent rollout of its latest operating system to flagships and newer devices like the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26, Samsung is now bringing One UI 8.5 to its previous generation of mid-range smartphones. The Galaxy A35 and A55 are the latest models officially slated for the upgrade.
The rollout has kicked off in Samsung's home market of South Korea. For the Galaxy A55, the update carries firmware version A556SKSU7DZE5, while the A35 update features a build number ending in DZE4. Bundled with the release is the May 2026 security patch, which addresses recently discovered system vulnerabilities.
Rather than just a feature dump, One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A55 and A35 focuses heavily on optimizing the everyday user experience. Under the hood, Samsung has fine-tuned the system to deliver smoother animations, faster app response times, and better battery efficiency. The update also introduces minor visual tweaks, giving the navigation menu a cleaner, more streamlined look.
As is standard practice, Samsung is deploying the software in phases across different regions to ensure server stability. After the initial release in South Korea, users in other markets like Vietnam, Southeast Asia, and Europe likely won't have to wait much longer.
To check if the update is available for your device, simply head to Settings > Software update and tap Download and install.
