Following an extended testing phase on the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is finally expanding its One UI 8.5 Beta program to more devices. The company's latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, are now receiving their very first beta builds.
Built on Android 16, One UI 8.5 promises a host of UI tweaks, system optimizations, and a more refined user experience. Notably, this is the exact same software shipping out of the box with the newly launched Galaxy S26 lineup.
The inaugural beta is currently rolling out in South Korea and the UK, with a wider release expected in the coming weeks. The firmware, carrying the build number ZZC5, is a hefty download at over 4.2GB and includes the February 2026 security patch.
Beyond under-the-hood performance improvements, the update reportedly introduces a cleaner, more intuitive interface tailored specifically to make the most of folding screens.
Eager users can opt into the testing program directly through the Samsung Members app. While the S25 beta eventually reached six markets—India, Germany, South Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US—it remains to be seen if the Fold 7 and Flip 7 will see the same broad rollout.
If testing proceeds smoothly, stable One UI 8.5 updates for the Fold 7 and Flip 7 will likely drop sometime in April or May 2026.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 series is inching closer to a stable release, having just received its seventh beta update, which focuses primarily on squashing bugs and boosting system stability.
