Following its initial rollout to the flagship Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is now casting a wider net for its April 2026 security patch. The tech giant has officially added the Galaxy S24 and S23 families—including their respective Fan Edition (FE) models—to the update roster.
The latest firmware is currently making its debut in South Korea, with a broader global release expected over the next few days. For the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, the update carries a build number ending in CZCH, while the S24 FE is receiving version CZD2.
Meanwhile, last year's Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra are seeing an update ending in EZCI, with the S23 FE getting build DZCH. While this month's patch doesn't bring any flashy new features, it provides a crucial under-the-hood tune-up. According to Samsung, the April 2026 release squashes 47 security vulnerabilities across the Android OS, One UI, and various system components.
In tandem with the security rollout, Samsung is also pushing forward with its next major software overhaul. The Galaxy S24 and S24 FE have already entered the One UI 8.5 Beta program in select markets. Internal testing builds for the Galaxy S23 have also been spotted on Samsung's servers, hinting at an imminent beta launch for the older flagships. However, the S23 FE's beta status remains up in the air.
To check if the update has hit your device, simply navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. As always, make sure your phone has enough battery life and a stable connection before starting the installation process.
