According to data from Samsung's FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) server, a new One UI 8 Watch beta is being prepared for the Galaxy Watch 7 with the firmware code ZYH2. While there are no details about the update, it is likely that this beta 2 will bring performance improvements and system tweaks based on feedback from users of the first beta version.
The continued beta rollout for the Galaxy Watch 7 suggests that Samsung is still in the process of fine-tuning the software instead of rushing to release a stable version. This is quite surprising as the Watch 7 and Watch Ultra both started their beta programs in late June, but only the Watch Ultra has received the official version. Currently, the One UI 8 Watch beta program is being deployed by Samsung in the US and South Korea.
If the Watch 7 does indeed receive the second beta, the Wear OS 6 update schedule may be delayed for other watch lines such as the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, Watch 6, and Watch FE. Meanwhile, One UI 8 Watch was officially launched alongside the Galaxy Watch 8 last month, bringing a new interface and a host of improved features, especially advanced health tracking tools.
Currently, Samsung has not made any official announcement about the next phase of the One UI 8 Watch update plan. Previously, the company revealed that the Watch 5 and above would receive the beta soon, but recent changes may have caused the schedule to be adjusted. Everything will probably be clearer in the coming weeks.
