Samsung has officially expanded its One UI 8.5 testing phase to tablets following the initial beta rollout on smartphones. Interestingly, the Galaxy Tab S9 series has emerged as the first tablet line to receive a One UI 8.5 test build, preceding newer models like the Galaxy Tab S10 or the upcoming Tab S11.
According to data sourced from Samsung’s official servers, firmware for the entire Galaxy Tab S9 lineup—covering both Wi-Fi and 5G versions—has been spotted in regions including India and Europe, bearing the build identifier EYL1. This development indicates that Samsung is scaling up its internal testing, suggesting that support for other tablets, such as the Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S11, will likely follow soon.
This move comes shortly after Samsung kicked off the One UI 8.5 Beta program for the Galaxy S25. The first beta was released last week, with a follow-up update expected to arrive in the coming week. It remains unclear whether Samsung plans to widen the public beta to include additional devices.
Alongside the public beta, internal test builds of One UI 8.5 have been detected on a wide range of Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24, S23, Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, A56, and A55. As of now, no firmware has been recorded for the Galaxy M or F series.
The stable release of One UI 8.5 is projected to launch in early 2026 alongside the Galaxy S26 series. Based on Android 16 QPR2, this update promises a refreshed system interface, enhanced lock screen customization, smoother animations, partial screen recording, and upgraded blur effects throughout the UI.
