In a significant move for cross-platform sharing, Samsung has begun rolling out a new software update for its Galaxy S26 lineup—including the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra—that officially introduces AirDrop compatibility through Quick Share. Currently deploying in South Korea, the update is expected to expand to global markets shortly.

Weighing in at over 700MB, the firmware (version S94xNKSU1AZCF) marks the second update for the devices in February 2026. While it retains the February security patch rather than advancing to March's, its headline feature is undeniable: the ability to seamlessly transfer files wirelessly between Galaxy smartphones and Apple devices via AirDrop.

Galaxy owners can manually check for the OTA update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. The device will automatically restart during the installation process.

To take advantage of this new cross-ecosystem bridge, users must ensure their device is running Google Play Services version 26.11 or higher, alongside the latest Quick Share app (version 13.8.51.30) available on the Galaxy Store. On the receiving end, Apple users will need to set their AirDrop visibility to "Everyone" to successfully connect and receive files.

This official rollout signals that Samsung's highly anticipated AirDrop integration is no longer just a boardroom promise, but a tangible feature finally arriving in the hands of everyday users.
