Samsung has officially begun rolling out the June 2026 Google Play System update to its smartphone users. While Google has kept the exact file size under wraps, user reports confirm that once installed, the device's system version bumps up from May 1 to June 1, 2026.

However, the rollout appears to be limited at this stage. The update has been spotted on the flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra running the One UI 9.0 beta in India. Meanwhile, older models like the Galaxy S25 on One UI 8.5 are still waiting. This suggests the initial release is prioritizing devices running the company's latest software.

To check for the latest Google Play System update, users can navigate to Settings > About phone > Software information, and tap on Google Play system update. The device will automatically scan for new data. If the update is available, a "Download and install" option will appear. Once the download is complete, simply tap Restart now to apply the changes.

Alongside Google's system upgrade, Samsung is also actively pushing out the One UI 8.5 update, coupled with the June 2026 security patch, to a wide range of its smartphones. To manually check for these software updates, head to Settings > Software update and tap Download and install.
