Samsung has officially rolled out its May software update for the Galaxy S25 series, following the successful upgrade of the S26 lineup and select mid-range devices. The tech giant is expected to push the patch to a wider array of smartphones and tablets in the coming days.
Following the major One UI 8.5 release earlier this month, Samsung is now following up with routine security patches for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, starting with the Indian market. The latest firmware, bearing a build number ending in CZE1, weighs in at approximately 545 MB for the Ultra model.
The update package is slated to reach the S25 FE, S25 Edge, and users in other global markets shortly. While build numbers and file sizes will naturally vary depending on the specific model and region, the core payload remains the same: essential bug fixes from both Samsung and Google. Notably, this month’s patch addresses roughly 40 system security vulnerabilities.
To manually check for the update, users can navigate to Settings > Software Update and tap Download and install.
Thanks to the "seamless update" feature available on newer flagship models, the installation happens quietly in the background without interrupting device usage—requiring only a quick restart to take effect. Owners of older generations, however, will still experience a brief downtime while the installation processes directly on-screen.
