As January 2026 winds down, Samsung is continuing its aggressive push to deliver the latest security maintenance release (SMR) to eligible Galaxy devices. The latest deployment wave covers approximately 23 models across the Galaxy A, M, and F series, as well as several tablets, with a primary focus on the South Korean market and select Asian regions.
Key devices joining the update roster include popular models such as the Galaxy A15 5G, A16 5G, A33, A35, M35, M54, F15, and the Galaxy Tab S10 series.
Focus on the Domestic Market In its home market of South Korea, Samsung has pushed the January 2026 patch to a wide range of devices. The Galaxy A15 4G and A15 5G have received updates carrying firmware versions A155NKSS8CZA2 and A156LKSS8CZAB, respectively. Their successors, the A16 4G and A16 5G, were also updated with builds A165NKSS5CZA1 and A166LKSS5BZAA.
Mid-range and Notable Outliers Interestingly, the Galaxy A17 5G—typically an early recipient of monthly patches—arrived slightly later than usual this cycle. It has now begun receiving the update in Vietnam with firmware A176BXXS4BZA5.
In the broader mid-range segment, the Galaxy A33 and A35 have been updated in Korea, sporting firmware versions A336NKSSDGZA1 and A356NKSS7CZA1, respectively.
Galaxy M and F Series Expansion The rollout extends to the M and F series across various international markets:
-
Galaxy M Series: The Galaxy M35 update is currently live in Vietnam and Sri Lanka (Firmware: M356BXXS6CZA4). Meanwhile, the Galaxy M54 has picked up the patch in Thailand, Malaysia, and Australia (Firmware: M546BXXSAEZA5).
-
Galaxy F Series: In India, the Galaxy F15 received build E156BXXS8CZA3, while the F05 is being updated in both India and Sri Lanka with version E055FXXS6CZA1.
Tablet Updates Samsung also addressed its larger screens, releasing the January patch for the Wi-Fi variants of the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Tab S10 Ultra in Korea (Firmware: X*20XXS6CZA3). Notably, the latest premium Galaxy Tab S11 is still missing from the current update list.
What’s in the Patch? This update focuses purely on system hardening rather than new features. It addresses 55 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and other partners, aiming to improve overall system stability and security.
Other devices quietly receiving the update in regions including Europe, South Asia, and Vietnam include the Galaxy A24, A25, M04, M16, M33, F23, as well as the Tab S8 series and Tab S6 Lite.
How to Update Users with eligible devices can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to ensure their device remains secure.
