Samsung has officially kicked off its One UI 9 Beta program for its latest flagship generation, delivering a wave of groundbreaking features and deep customization options that let users truly personalize their devices.
Following initial teasers, the Android 17-based update is now rolling out to Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra users in Germany. The firmware, carrying the version number S94xBXXU2ZZEF, is expected to expand to other eligible test markets in the coming weeks.
This major update places a heavy emphasis on personalization and tightened security. Key upgrades include a more flexible Quick Panel, a suite of fresh features in Samsung Notes, and enhanced privacy settings designed to better protect user data online. Beyond cosmetic tweaks, Samsung has also introduced new accessibility tools, making the devices more user-friendly for everyone. The tech giant plans to release subsequent beta builds to iron out any software kinks before the official, stable rollout.
For early adopters enrolled in the Beta program via the Samsung Members app, the trial version is ready to download. Simply navigate to Settings > Software update, and tap Download and install. Once the device grabs the file, a quick reboot will complete the setup process.
However, a word of caution for eager users: as with any initial beta release, bugs and performance hiccups are par for the course. Experts strongly advise backing up critical data before upgrading. More importantly, it is highly recommended not to install this test build on your "daily driver" to avoid unwanted disruptions to your everyday workflow.
