One UI 8.5 is approaching its public testing phase, with key details surfacing ahead of schedule. Just days before the rumored beta launch for Galaxy S25 users in the second week of December, the complete changelog has emerged through leaker Tarun Vats, offering the first comprehensive look at Samsung's next major software update.
A test firmware for One UI 8.5 first leaked in September, revealing significant interface and feature upgrades. Since then, multiple builds have appeared with incremental improvements. Nearly all features listed below were present in leaked firmware and are expected in the official beta program. Samsung may continue adding capabilities, particularly around Galaxy AI—the new AI toolkit slated to debut with the Galaxy S26 next year.
Note that Samsung may not deploy every change to all devices. Here is the full One UI 8.5 changelog compiled from the latest leak:
Galaxy AI
Continuous Image Generation
Create without interruption. Photo Assist now lets you generate AI images using multiple tools without saving each step. When finished, you can review all created images in history and select your favorites.
Bixby
Smarter Device Control
Talk to Bixby naturally. Bixby better understands your needs and can find the right feature or setting even if you don't remember the exact command or name. Just say what you want, and Bixby handles it.
Ask Anything, Anytime
Whether you need a quick answer or detailed information, just ask Bixby for instant responses. No need for multi-step searches or constant app switching.
Conversation History
Review past conversations with Bixby more easily than ever. Access this history from the sidebar within the Bixby app.

Shared Storage
Access files anywhere. Files from other Samsung devices—phones, tablets, or PCs—appear in the My Files app. You can also access phone files from other Samsung devices, including TVs.
Quick Smart View Connection
Connect faster to favorite screens. Add shortcuts to the Lock screen for quick phone-to-TV or display casting.
Enhanced Auracast
Listening and broadcasting audio via Auracast is easier than ever. Broadcast and receive options are grouped under Sound settings.
Voice Broadcast
Broadcast your voice to people around you via Auracast. In addition to media audio, you can now transmit live voice through the phone's microphone.

Block Unwanted Share Requests
Set preferences to only receive files from devices logged into your Samsung Account or Google Account.

Wallpapers with people or pets automatically adjust layouts so clocks and widgets don't cover important image areas.
Custom Clock Fonts
Adjust clock font weight and style on the lock screen to match your personal aesthetic.
Weather
Enhanced Weather Widget
Quickly view expected rainfall over the next few hours through a new chart directly on the home screen.

Get a more complete weekly health picture. New reports include medication tracking and meditation session data.
Enhanced Workout Sharing
Share workouts more dynamically, easily incorporating photos from exercise sessions to create social media content.
Start Meditation from the Watch

Antioxidant Measurement from Watch
Check antioxidant levels anytime, even when the watch isn't connected to the phone. Works on Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch Ultra.
Security & Privacy
Anti-Theft Protection
Keep data safe if the device is lost or stolen. Failed authentication lock automatically secures the screen after too many incorrect passwords, fingerprints, patterns, or PIN attempts.
Temporary Auto Blocker Disable
If you need to temporarily disable Auto Blocker, the system allows a temporary shutdown and automatically re-enables it after 30 minutes.
Battery & Performance
New Battery Info Interface
Clearer battery information. The battery settings screen is redesigned to help you easily check remaining time, charging status, and weekly daily usage.
Improved Battery Saver Mode
Extend battery life without needing extra charges. Choose Standard level for moderate savings or Maximum level to disable unnecessary features for maximum usage time.
Accessibility
Easy Bluetooth Hearing Aid Control
Access hearing aid settings from Accessibility shortcuts. A pop-up window lets you change modes, toggle ambient sound, and access other options.
Mouse/Keyboard Zoom Area Control
Keep important content in the zoomed area while typing or navigating. When using a mouse, the zoom area can automatically shift when the cursor reaches the screen edges.
Mouse Hold and Corner Actions
The "activate on mouse hover" feature is split into two separate functions. You can set custom actions for when the cursor stops or assign functions to each screen corner.
Other Improvements
Quick Settings Panel Customization
Arrange the Quick Settings panel your way. You can add, remove, reorder, or move control buttons.
Early Reminders
Receive notifications before reminder times so you never miss important tasks. Choose how far in advance the system alerts you.
Partial Screen Recording
Record only the screen portion you want. You can select the recording area before starting.
Calculator App Suggestions
Save time when entering data. When opening the Calculator app, copied numbers or formulas are suggested for quick pasting.
