After a long period of testing and waiting, Samsung has finally confirmed the release date of the stable One UI 8 update for users. According to the latest announcement, the Galaxy S25 series will be the first devices to receive the One UI 8 update in September, as predicted by the technology world.
The rollout will take place in stages, starting with the latest flagship models such as the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. Then, other eligible devices will be updated in the following weeks. This method helps Samsung control the initial feedback, handle the remaining bugs before spreading to millions of devices globally.
In addition to focusing on the stable update, Samsung is also expanding the One UI 8 Beta testing program. Starting next week, Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 users in Korea, the US, the UK, and India can sign up via the Samsung Members app to experience the new operating system early.
Notably, this expanded list also includes the Galaxy S23, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and mid-range models such as the Galaxy A36, A35, A55, and A54. The Galaxy A56 has not been mentioned yet, despite being launched not long ago. Although they are all updated with similar new features, the mid-range group of devices may have to wait longer to receive the official version.
Meanwhile, Galaxy Watch users will have to continue waiting. The One UI 8 Watch update is expected to bring a smoother new interface, deeper customization, and improved performance, but Samsung has not yet revealed a specific release date.
