After completing the rollout of One UI 8 for smartphones and tablets, Samsung is now shifting focus to its wearables. Just days after the Galaxy Watch 6 series received the stable One UI 8 Watch update globally, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro are now joining the list.

About two weeks ago, Samsung released the second beta of One UI 8 Watch for the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. That beta phase has now concluded, with the stable version rolling out first in South Korea under firmware version DYK4. The update is expected to expand to more markets in the coming days.

The Galaxy Watch 6 series and newer models have already received the update, while the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch FE likely won’t get a beta version. However, a stable release for these models could arrive before the end of the year as Samsung accelerates its 2025 software development schedule for smartwatches.

Built on Wear OS 6, One UI 8 Watch introduces improvements in performance, interface design, and battery life. Samsung has refined animations, smoothed out system operations, and optimised background app behaviour. Apps launch faster, navigation feels more fluid, and power efficiency is improved overall.

One of the key highlights of this update is the new Now Bar, which displays real-time notifications from priority apps without requiring users to open each one. The Tile system has also been enhanced to deliver more contextual information from frequently used features. One UI 8 Watch further expands the suite of health-related features and enhances existing ones for more precise tracking.

Users can check for and install the update through the Galaxy Wearable app by navigating to Watch settings > Software update > Download and install.
