While the Galaxy community tracks the One UI 8.5 Beta program, Samsung has quietly expanded its security update roadmap for the new foldable lineup. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are now receiving the December 2025 security patch in South Korea, ahead of a broader global rollout in the coming days.

Both devices receive firmware version AYKE, with an installation package around 600MB. The update prioritizes system security and stability enhancements ahead of Samsung's One UI 8.5 testing phase. While no new features arrive, this patch plays a critical role in preparing the software foundation for upcoming major updates.

According to December 2025 security documentation, the patch addresses nearly 70 vulnerabilities, with 11 directly tied to the One UI system and the remainder covering Android baseline patches from Google. This significantly improves daily device security.

Both Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 shipped with One UI 8 based on Android 16, making One UI 8.5 their first major feature upgrade. However, it remains unclear whether they qualify for the One UI 8.5 Beta program. The stable One UI 8.5 release for foldables is expected in the first half of 2026.

Samsung will soon expand the December update globally. Users can check for the patch by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Those interested in One UI 8.5 Beta should monitor the Beta section in the Samsung Members app. The testing program may be limited to select markets—South Korea, India, Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, and United States—depending on Samsung's rollout strategy.
