Samsung has just released the August 2025 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 duo. After rolling out in a few select markets, the patch has now officially expanded globally, including the US. This means that in the near future, all Fold 7 and Flip 7 users around the world will soon be upgraded.

The August 2025 security patch brings 47 bug fixes, of which 18 vulnerabilities directly affect Galaxy devices, and the rest belong to the Android operating system. These fixes are part of Samsung's Security Maintenance Release (SMR) program, helping to increase the safety and stability of the device.

The Fold 7 and Flip 7 are the two latest foldable screen flagships, launched last July. Like other Samsung flagships from 2024 onwards, both devices will be supported for 7 generations of OS upgrades and 7 years of security patches. The duo will ship with One UI 8 based on Android 16 and will continue to receive feature updates until Android 23. It is expected that users will receive monthly security updates for the first 5 years, then switch to a quarterly cycle until 2032.

If you own a Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Flip 7, you can check for updates by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If a new patch is available, download and install it. After a reboot, your device will be running the latest security patch.
