Samsung has expanded the One UI 8 Watch Beta program to the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro, allowing users to experience the biggest update of the year for Galaxy smartwatches.
Like the Watch 6 and Watch 7 models, the One UI 8 Watch beta is currently only available in the US and South Korea. This is good news for those who want to try out the new features early, but it also makes many users outside of these two markets feel worried that the stable version will have to wait even longer.
Previously, Samsung had promised to release the official One UI 8 Watch version to more watch models before the end of 2025. While that plan is still on track, the current rollout is significantly slower than expected.
In fact, only the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra (2024) have received the stable update. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 6 series is still stuck in the fifth beta, and the Watch 5 has only just been added to the testing program. This has led many users to hope that Samsung will soon shorten the beta period and release the official version faster.
However, the fact that the Watch 5 has been added to the testing list is also a sign that the One UI 8 Watch completion process is approaching the final stage. Users in the US and Korea can download and test the beta version starting today via the Samsung Members app.
As for Galaxy Watch 4 users, there is currently no information on whether this watch line will be included in the beta program or not - a question that perhaps only Samsung can answer in the near future.
