Samsung has just released the October 2025 security update for the Galaxy S25 series, kicking off this month's regular software update. The patch is now available in several Asian countries, including Thailand, and will be rolled out globally in the coming days.

Normally, Samsung would roll out the SMR (Security Maintenance Release) patch at the beginning of the month, but this year's schedule has been slightly delayed due to the timing of the One UI 8 (Android 16) release. Some models have already received the patch bundled into the One UI 8 update, while others – including the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra – have now started receiving the patch separately.

The update carries the BYIF code and weighs in at over 560MB for the Galaxy S25 Ultra model. The October 2025 patch reportedly includes 34 security fixes, a combination of patches from Google and Samsung, including some critical system-related bugs. Although it is one of the smallest patches in recent memory, it still ensures the necessary level of security and stability for users.

Samsung said that the release of this update will be gradually expanded to other markets in the coming time, and other eligible Galaxy devices will also receive the same patch soon. Users can manually check by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install to see if the patch is ready for their device.

Following this security update, One UI 8.5 is set to launch in early 2026. The new version promises a refined interface, optimized performance, and more powerful Galaxy AI enhancements, and is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series before being widely released to other devices.
