December has arrived, and the Galaxy community is awaiting Samsung's launch of the One UI 8.5 Beta program. That moment appears imminent, as Samsung has been quietly testing new builds for multiple devices, including the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Samsung is currently testing One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S24 Ultra on internal servers. According to leaker Tarun Vats, a build with code S928BXXU4DYL5 has surfaced, indicating the Galaxy S24 Ultra has entered internal technical testing within the company's system. This signals an accelerated One UI 8.5 release timeline.

Recent reports from reliable sources suggest the One UI 8.5 Beta will begin on December 8, 2025. The initial beta will likely be limited to users in the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Germany. Other regions may receive One UI 8.5 Beta starting December 22, aligning with the second rollout phase.
It remains unclear whether the Galaxy S24 series will be included in the One UI 8.5 Beta eligibility list. In any case, Samsung will prioritise the beta experience for the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 duo—the company's current flagship products. Other models may be added later.
Users can preview One UI 8.5 Beta's notable changes through the recently leaked changelog, which details new features that have surfaced over the past few weeks.
