After a quiet few weeks, Samsung has started rolling out new security updates for several Galaxy flagships, including the entire Galaxy S24 series. The update is rolling out first in South Korea and will soon be rolled out to other markets.
The new update, with a firmware version ending in CYK2, is around 300MB in size – quite light, and that’s understandable given that the update package is focused on security fixes. The November 2025 patch addresses around three dozen vulnerabilities affecting Android and Samsung’s custom software. Some of these bugs are related to Exynos-powered devices, including the Exynos 2400 found on the Galaxy S24 and S24+ in most markets.
Of course, this update is based on One UI 8 (Android 16) – the second major OS upgrade for the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung is still keeping up with the regular updates and has already started development on One UI 8.5, which is expected to roll out to the S24 series in the first half of next year, along with many other Galaxy devices.
Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, or S24 FE users can check for and install the latest update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. When the patch appears, just tap install and wait for the device to reboot to complete.
