Samsung has just released the May 2025 security update for the Galaxy S23 series. Currently, the update is available in the Korean market and is expected to expand to other countries in the next few days.

Specifically, the update is being deployed for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra with the software version code S91xNKSS6DYE1, with a download size of about 450MB. This is a patch that focuses on improving system security, helping to fix dozens of security vulnerabilities that have been discovered. However, this update does not come with any new features or significant upgrades.

Users in Korea can check and download the update via Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Alternatively, if you are a tech-savvy user, you can also manually update by downloading the firmware file from the database and flashing it via a Windows computer using the Odin tool. However, make sure you have backed up all your important data before proceeding.

Earlier in April, the Galaxy S23 series received the major One UI 7.0 update based on Android 15, marking the second Android OS upgrade since the device launched with Android 13. According to Samsung's update roadmap, the series will continue to receive two more major Android updates, of which the One UI 8.0 based on Android 16 is expected to launch in the second half of this year.
