The Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra have just started receiving a new software update with the June 2025 security patch. Currently, this update is being released first in South Korea, and it is likely to be widely deployed to other markets in the next few days.

Apart from the security patch, the update does not bring any new changes or features. However, if your device is experiencing minor bugs with One UI 7.0, this update may improve performance or fix some minor issues.

To check and install the update, users can go to Settings, select Software update, then tap Download and install.

The next major update for the Galaxy S22 series will be Android 16 with One UI 8. However, while Samsung is accelerating the development process, the release of One UI 8 for the series may not come until August.

Android 16 will be the last major OS upgrade the Galaxy S22 series will receive. The device could still be updated to One UI 8.5 in the first half of 2026 when the Galaxy S26 series launches, but after that, users should expect only regular security patches rather than major updates.
