Samsung has just released the July 2025 security update for the Galaxy A56, its latest mid-range smartphone. This update aims to fix a series of security vulnerabilities on Android and the One UI interface, making the device more secure against new threats. Some other models were updated a few days ago.
The update is currently being deployed for the international version of the Galaxy A56 with the model number SM-A566B. The device receives firmware version number A566BXXS5AYFB, which can be downloaded directly via OTA. According to the record, this patch includes 40 security vulnerabilities, including a serious bug in the Android operating system that has been handled by Google.
The Galaxy A56 is the latest device that Samsung has added to the list of devices receiving the July patch. Previously, the company released updates for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, Fold 6, Flip 6, and some other models. Since Samsung is rolling out the update in stages, some users may receive it sooner than others.
Users can check for the update by going to Settings, selecting Software update, then tapping Download and install. The Galaxy A56 and S25 series support a seamless update mechanism, so the installation process will take place in the background, with the device only restarting once when complete. For devices without this feature, users will have to pause use for a few minutes to complete the upgrade process.
After completing the July security patch rollout, Samsung is expected to shift its focus to the One UI 8 update. This new interface version is based on the Android 16 platform, and is expected to start rolling out in late July or early August.
