The Galaxy A52s was Samsung's most powerful mid-range phone before it was dethroned by the Galaxy A55. If you're still using the device, chances are you've already received a new software update.
Currently, the Galaxy A52s is the only model in the A52 series that Samsung is still supporting with firmware updates. The latest update, with the A528BXXSBGYF1 version, is starting to roll out in some Asian markets, and it comes with the June 2025 security patch.
According to Samsung, this patch fixes a total of 19 security vulnerabilities in the software, including serious bugs such as unauthorized access to Samsung Cloud or the ability to take screenshots from the Galaxy Watch without the user's permission. In addition, many vulnerabilities in the core Android operating system have also been patched.
For a mid-range device launched in 2021, this update doesn't bring any notable new features other than enhanced security. To check and install, users can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If you don't see the update yet, you can try again in a few days as the distribution process usually happens in stages.
In case you want to experience new updates faster, the Galaxy A56 is a worthy option to consider. This device comes with One UI 7 pre-installed, receives monthly security updates, and is on the upgrade roadmap of six major operating system versions from Samsung.
