Samsung is expanding the availability of its January 2026 security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 foldables. Following an initial debut in South Korea earlier this week, the rollout has now reached Europe, India, and select other markets. A release for US users is expected to follow imminently.

As spotted by tipster Tarun Vats, the European and Indian variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are receiving firmware versions ending in AZA1. The over-the-air (OTA) package weighs in at approximately 548MB for the Fold 7 and 426MB for the Flip 7. Much like the initial release, this update is purely strictly maintenance-focused, bringing security patches without any new features or UI changes.

According to Samsung’s documentation, the January 2026 SMR (Security Maintenance Release) addresses 55 security vulnerabilities across the Galaxy lineup. These include patches from Google’s Android base, partner components, and specific fixes for One UI. Notably, the patch details vary by hardware; the Exynos-powered Galaxy Z Flip 7 receives specific chipset fixes that do not apply to the Snapdragon-equipped Fold 7.

Owners of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.

Both devices support Google’s Seamless Updates feature, allowing the patch to download and install in the background while the phone is in use. Users simply need to restart their device to apply the changes. If the update hasn't appeared yet, it should become available automatically over the coming days as the rollout expands.
