LAS VEGAS — Ahead of the official start of CES 2026, Samsung Electronics kicked off the tech season with its "The First Look" event, officially unveiling a vision to make artificial intelligence a comprehensive "everyday companion."

Speaking at the event, Roh Tae-moon announced that Samsung is integrating AI across its entire product ecosystem—spanning smartphones, TVs, and home appliances—to create more practical, accessible, and user-friendly experiences for daily life.

A Hybrid Approach to AI According to Samsung, its strategy revolves around a flexible hybrid approach, seamlessly blending on-device processing with cloud-based AI. The goal is to offer users more flexibility while building a unified experience through familiar platforms like SmartThings, One UI, and Now Brief. The tech giant also emphasized that security remains a top priority, with Samsung Knox ensuring that all AI operations remain transparent and trustworthy.

Redefining Entertainment In the entertainment sector, Samsung highlighted how AI enhances the viewing experience, focusing not just on convenience but on comfort. The company introduced "Vision AI Companion," a dedicated platform for Samsung TVs capable of understanding the context of user queries to provide personalized content recommendations.

Hardware announcements were equally ambitious, with the reveal of the world’s first 130-inch Micro RGB TV. Samsung confirmed plans to expand this lineup with sizes ranging from 55 to 100 inches later in 2026.

Smarter Homes with Google Gemini On the home appliance front, Samsung continues its mission to reduce the burden of household chores. Its AI appliances operate on the SmartThings platform, which now boasts over 430 million users connecting more than 4,700 devices.

A key highlight for the 2026 lineup is the Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator. It becomes Samsung's first home appliance to integrate Google’s latest Gemini AI model, significantly improving food recognition and meal management. Samsung noted that these advanced AI capabilities will eventually expand to washing machines and cooking devices.

AI for Health and Wellness Moving beyond entertainment and home care, Samsung is deepening its integration of AI into healthcare via Samsung Health. The platform aggregates data on sleep, nutrition, and physical activity to offer personalized wellness advice. In cases where irregularities are detected, Samsung plans to connect users with the Zels platform for professional medical consultation.

Notably, the company also debuted brain health monitoring technology. This new feature is designed to detect early signs of cognitive decline by analyzing lifestyle habits and biosignals from mobile and wearable devices.
