Samsung has officially expanded the One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 7 globally, after releasing it in Korea and the US last week. This is the latest version of the company's smartwatch interface, bringing a more intuitive design, many improvements in Samsung Health, and a series of smart features to make the user experience more complete.

Based on Wear OS 6, One UI 8 Watch is currently being deployed to Galaxy Watch 7 users in Europe, Asia, and other international regions. The update has a firmware code ending in BY14, is about 1.9 GB in size, and comes with the September 2025 security patch to improve performance and enhance device protection. Both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi versions of the Galaxy Watch 7 have started receiving this update.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024) series will receive a stable update in the near future, while the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch Ultra (2025) will come with One UI 8 Watch pre-installed right out of the box.

This update brings many obvious changes to the interface and user experience. One UI 8 Watch introduces redesigned app icons, watch faces, and widgets (Tiles), along with a smoother new charging effect. Users can now choose a grid-style app drawer layout in addition to the traditional list view, making searching and navigation faster and more modern.

Samsung has also greatly improved the notification experience and control gestures. Messages are now grouped by conversation thread, and users can quickly clear notifications with a double-pinch gesture. This gesture is also extended to many other operations such as scrolling through the notification list, controlling music, taking photos remotely, and many other smart interactive features.

The Samsung Health app also gets a host of major upgrades, including a Bedtime Guide for more detailed sleep quality tracking, a Run Coach with personalized analytics, and expanded Mindfulness tools to support mental and physical balance.

If you own a Galaxy Watch 7, you can check for and install the update by opening Galaxy Wearable > Watch Settings > Watch Software Update > Download and Install. Once downloaded, simply select Install Now to experience One UI 8 Watch with a new interface, more features, and seamless connectivity within the Galaxy AI ecosystem.
