Samsung has just rolled out the August 2025 security update for the Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 6 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra. The new patch focuses on improving stability, security, and reliability. The update is currently available in some markets and will be expanded in the coming weeks.

For the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic launched in 2023, users are still eligible to upgrade to One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6. However, this update will come later. For now, Samsung is rolling out the August 2025 security patch with the version number BYH1, starting in South Korea.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch Ultra - a high-end smartwatch launched in 2024 - has received the stable version of One UI 8 Watch since late July 2025 with a series of new health features. The device is currently receiving the August 2025 security patch in the US with the version number BYH6.

If you have a Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 6 Classic, or Watch Ultra, you should check and install it now to ensure the best experience. To update, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected smartphone, go to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install. Note that the patch may not appear immediately, as Samsung typically releases it in stages.

According to the release notes, the August 2025 patch brings many stability and security improvements. Samsung has also announced details in the Security Maintenance Release (SMR) package, including fixes related to SemSensorService, fall detection, and SemSensorManager.
