Samsung is accelerating its internal testing for One UI 8.5, with a wave of new devices recently surfacing on test servers. This surge in activity suggests that the update, based on Android 16 QPR2, is fast-tracking development ahead of a wider release.
Galaxy A-Series Testing Expands According to findings by tipster Akhilesh Kumar, the Galaxy A26 has been spotted running a One UI 8.5 test build on Samsung’s servers across India, Europe, and Turkey. The firmware, identified as A266BXXU6CYL2, confirms that internal testing is underway, although an official release timeline remains under wraps.
Simultaneously, the popular Galaxy A54 has joined the testing pool. A test build for the device (firmware A546BXXUGFYL1) appeared on European servers, signaling Samsung's continued commitment to software support for its existing mid-range lineup.
The list of devices doesn’t stop there. Prior to the A26 and A54, evidence of One UI 8.5 testing was found for a host of other Galaxy A models, including the Galaxy A56, A55, A53, A36, A33, A17 5G, and A16 5G. Interestingly, unreleased models like the Galaxy A57 and A37 have also popped up on test servers, hinting that they may ship with One UI 8.5 out of the box.
Tablets Get the Treatment Too On the tablet front, Samsung has kicked off early testing for the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. The initial test build was recorded for the global 5G variant (Model SM-X926B) with the PDA version X926BXXU5CYL1. While some technical details in this build appear inconsistent with previous iterations—a common occurrence in very early internal testing—it marks a significant step forward.
Notably, the update for the Tab S10 Ultra weighs in at approximately 3.83GB and includes the December 2025 security patch. This follows earlier signs of One UI 8.5 testing for other tablets, including the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and the entire Tab S9 series (Standard, Plus, and Ultra).
