Samsung is actively ramping up its development of One UI 8.5. While the beta program is currently exclusive to the Galaxy S25 lineup, the Galaxy A55 has not been left behind. Although the mid-range device will skip the public beta phase, it is officially in the pipeline for the stable release.

According to insights shared by tipster Alfatürk on X, Samsung has kicked off internal testing of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A55. The surfacing of firmware build A556EXXUBDYL2 confirms that preparations for the next major update are well underway.

The appearance of the Galaxy A55 on Samsung’s test servers signals that development has started, even though the update is not yet accessible to users. This aligns with Samsung’s typical roadmap, where the stable version of One UI 8.5 is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, before expanding to other eligible devices.

Launched in 2024 with Android 14 and One UI 6.1, the Galaxy A55 benefits from Samsung’s commitment to four major Android OS upgrades. This ensures the device is eligible for updates all the way up to Android 18 (One UI 10), followed by an additional year of security patches.

Samsung’s early testing of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A55 underscores the company’s dedication to its mid-range portfolio, ensuring these devices remain a priority even if they sit out the public beta cycle.
