Samsung appears to be accelerating the development of the One UI 8.5 Beta for its Galaxy S25 lineup. Recently, a new test build was spotted on the company's internal servers, signaling that the tech giant is prepping for the next major beta rollout specifically for its current flagship devices.

According to findings by tipster @tarunvats33, this latest firmware bears the build number ZYLL. While it is too early to confirm if this specific build will serve as the official "Beta 3," its existence confirms that internal testing is in full swing. Historically, Samsung often refines multiple internal versions before pushing a public beta to end-users.

Specifics regarding the changelog remain under wraps. However, following standard procedure, the upcoming update is expected to focus heavily on bug squashing, system optimization, and stability improvements to ensure a smoother user experience. This follows last week's release of One UI 8.5 Beta 2, which addressed various usability issues and boosted overall performance.

As for the release window, participants in the Galaxy S25 beta program are eyeing January 5, 2026, as the likely launch date. Samsung typically adheres to a Monday release schedule with a two-week cadence between updates. Given that the first beta arrived on December 8 and the second on December 22, a January 5 rollout aligns perfectly with this established pattern.

Should Samsung require additional time for polish, the release could slide to the following week, likely landing on January 12. With substantial development time remaining before the stable launch, it is highly probable we will see several more beta iterations throughout January and February, rather than development concluding with Beta 3.

Looking further ahead, the stable version of One UI 8.5 is projected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series in late February or early March. This suggests One UI 8.5 will serve as the final, polished software foundation for Samsung’s next generation of flagships.
