September has arrived, marking the start of an exciting period for Samsung users. In the coming weeks, the stable One UI 8 update will officially be released, bringing Android 16 and many new features to Galaxy devices.
Leading the update list is the Galaxy S25 series. This month, Samsung may expand the rollout to other flagships, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy S24 series.
One UI 8 is special for two important reasons. First, it is the fastest release of a major Android and One UI update in the same year. While One UI 7 took longer to roll out, this time, Samsung has worked closely with Google to ensure that Android 16 and One UI 8 reach users sooner than usual.
Second, Samsung has changed its update tradition. For the first time, the company is rolling out the new One UI to older devices after launching a series of new products running the software, including the new generation of Galaxy Folds. Notably, when the update takes place, Samsung will also introduce the Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy Tab S11, both of which will come pre-installed with One UI 8 out of the box.
There is no exact September date for the first release, but it can be confirmed that “One UI 8 month” has officially started. If you own an eligible device, now is the right time to prepare and ensure the upgrade process goes smoothly.
