Following the beta release for the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is rapidly pushing forward with its new operating system rollout, expanding the optimization process to a broader range of devices.

Recent data pulled from the company’s software servers reveals that encrypted firmware files for One UI 9.0—based on Android 17—have officially surfaced. Surprisingly, the firmware isn't just for newer models; it includes the 2023 Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, as well as mid-range contenders like the Galaxy M56 and M35.

This move signals that internal optimization for older hardware is officially underway. Currently, the Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 are the oldest foldables eligible for the massive OS upgrade. Meanwhile, the inclusion of the budget-friendly M56 and M35 proves Samsung is prioritizing widespread software synchronization across its entire ecosystem, rather than exclusively catering to its ultra-premium flagship users.

As previously leaked, One UI 9.0 is expected to double down on interface personalization and overall performance. Major overhauls include a much more intuitive Quick Panel, significant graphic optimization via Game Booster, and major productivity boosts for Samsung DeX and Samsung Notes. Additionally, new smart accessibility features are being baked into the OS to streamline everyday tasks.

Looking ahead, Samsung is slated to unveil the stable build of One UI 9.0 alongside its highly anticipated next-generation foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8—expected to launch later this month.

Following the initial flagship debut, the update will gradually roll out in phases to older devices. Given their lower-tier status, Galaxy M56 and M35 owners should expect to receive their upgrade notifications slightly later than premium users.
