Samsung is casting a wider net for its One UI 8.5 Beta program, officially welcoming the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 into the fold. This expansion coincides with the rollout of fresh beta builds for the newer Fold 6, Flip 6, and beyond.

Currently, Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 owners in South Korea can secure early access to One UI 8.5 by registering through the Samsung Members app. The update packs a suite of features and enhancements first introduced on the flagship Galaxy S26 series, promising a refined interface, smoother performance, and an upgraded overall user experience.

However, the beta's reach remains relatively restricted. Samsung is currently running the testing phase in a select handful of markets: South Korea, Germany, Poland, India, the UK, and the US. Even within these regions, device support can be fragmented, meaning the Fold 5 and Flip 5 beta might not be universally available across all participating countries.

For users in eligible regions, checking availability is straightforward: simply launch the Samsung Members app. If the program is live for your device, a registration banner will appear on the home screen. Once enrolled, the beta can be downloaded just like a standard over-the-air update via Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Looking ahead, Samsung is expected to push out several more beta iterations before finalizing the stable release. The official version of One UI 8.5 could begin its global rollout by the end of this month, likely debuting on the Galaxy S25 series. Foldable owners should expect their updates to land around mid-May, though those wielding the Fold 5 and Flip 5 might have to hold out until the end of the month.
