Good news for Galaxy S22 users: Samsung has officially resumed the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update process after a short pause to check the system.
Previously, the company suddenly withdrew the One UI 8.0 update from the OTA server without giving a specific reason, causing many users to panic. However, the update has now returned with the same firmware code as before, showing that Samsung has quickly fixed the problem and ensured stability before re-releasing.
According to records, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ have started receiving the One UI 8.0 update again in many regions. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is still in the review process and may receive the patch a little later. Some sources believe that the Ultra variant is the reason why Samsung had to pause the rollout to optimize performance.
If you haven’t seen the update yet, you can check for it manually by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Based on Android 16, One UI 8.0 brings a number of performance, security, and interface improvements, while also optimizing the user experience with new smart features. However, some features like Now Brief are not yet available on the Galaxy S22 series firmware.
Samsung’s quick resumption of the update process shows that it is working to ensure a stable and consistent experience for Galaxy users globally – and it also affirms its long-term commitment to maintaining an Android market-leading software support cycle.
