Samsung is expanding its software upgrade rollout to a slew of older smartwatches. After wrapping up updates for its latest lineup—including the Galaxy Watch 7, Watch 8, and Watch Ultra—the tech giant has officially released the next firmware version for its previous-generation wearables.

Currently live in South Korea for the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch FE, Watch 5, and Watch 6, the update is slated to hit global markets in the coming days.

The new software for these older models sports a build number ending in "ZE1," mirroring the recent high-end releases. According to the changelog, this patch is all about under-the-hood optimization and squashing bugs. Specifically, it packs the May 2026 security patch, delivering critical fixes from both Google and Samsung.

Depending on the specific model, watch face size, and connectivity (Wi-Fi or LTE), the download size varies slightly but sits comfortably under 200MB. Since it doesn't introduce flashy new features or user interface overhauls, the update strictly focuses on enhancing system stability, clearing out lingering glitches, and optimizing battery consumption.
