One of the most controversial changes on One UI 8 is that Samsung quietly removed an extremely useful tool in Good Lock's NotiStar. Users have been complaining since the Beta version appeared, and now the good news has come: this feature will officially return on One UI 9, expected to launch in 2026.
Previously, NotiStar had a section in Labs that allowed "locking notifications" of important applications, preventing them from being deleted when users pressed the "Clear all" button. For those who are often flooded with dozens of notifications every day but still need to keep important messages or alerts, this is truly an indispensable tool.

However, when upgrading to One UI 8, this feature completely disappeared. From the test version to the official version, users cannot reactivate it, creating many inconveniences during use. After a series of responses, Samsung confirmed that the feature will only appear again on the next operating system, namely One UI 9, based on Android 17.
This means that the Galaxy community will have to wait a little longer, as One UI 8 has just started to be released, and One UI 8.5 is expected to launch with the Galaxy S26 in early 2026. However, the fact that Samsung listened to the feedback and brought back the NotiStar feature is enough to make users feel excited. Because for many people, this is the "savior" that helps manage notifications much more intelligently and effectively.
