Samsung has introduced a new feature on One UI 8 that helps protect Galaxy users from voice phishing attacks.
Artificial intelligence (AI) can do many things, and one of the notable capabilities is to change your voice in real time. Therefore, criminals have taken advantage of AI to carry out voice phishing attacks, impersonating the voice of a loved one and calling you to scam you in many different ways. To stop this situation on Galaxy phones running One UI 8, Samsung has developed an effective solution.
On the Samsung community in Korea, the company introduced a new feature called Voice Phishing Suspected Call Alert for Galaxy phones running One UI 8. When you call an unsaved number, this feature will use AI to check for signs of voice phishing. If it detects any threats, it will immediately notify you via text, sound, and vibration.

How Samsung's Voice Phishing Suspected Call Alert Works and Is Enabled
Samsung says the feature detects voice phishing scam calls by learning from data from the National Police Agency and the National Institute of Scientific Research. It's processed directly on your device, so you don't have to worry about security.
To use the feature, go to the Phone app, tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the screen, select Settings, then tap Voice Phishing Suspected Call Alert and enable the feature. However, the feature is currently only available in South Korea.

We hope Samsung expands the feature to other countries. Given the large number of Galaxy users, this feature should help reduce voice phishing scams and other forms of fraud significantly. We also hope this feature will be applied to incoming calls in the future.
