The upcoming November promises to be an exciting time for the Galaxy user community, as Samsung prepares to launch the One UI 8.5 Beta testing program – the next major update expected to launch with the Galaxy S26 series in 2026.

SamMobile, citing internal sources, said that the One UI 8.5 Beta program could be deployed in the last week of November, starting from November 24. This is quite a surprise, as Samsung rarely opens a testing phase for mid-cycle updates like 8.5. However, the company's software development strategy has changed dramatically recently – more flexible and focused on user experience.

Previously, Samsung broke with tradition when launching One UI 7.0 in April 2025, instead of the end of 2024 as usual. The company also skipped versions 7.1 and 7.5, moving straight to One UI 8.0 (Android 16) - the update that is still being widely deployed. Opening One UI 8.5 testing this year shows that Samsung is looking to accelerate the software development roadmap, especially for high-end devices that are about to launch.

Currently, it is still unclear which countries and devices will participate in the testing phase, but it can be predicted that all flagship lines launched in the last two years, such as Galaxy S24, S25, Z Fold 6, and Flip 6 will be on the support list. In terms of improvements, leaks from One UI 8.5 firmware on Galaxy S25 Ultra show that this will be a more visual update, focusing on motion effects, interface optimization, and deeper integration of Galaxy AI features.

If it goes as planned, One UI 8.5 Beta will be the gateway to a new generation of Galaxy experiences – where intuitive interface, smooth performance, and artificial intelligence blend into the same software ecosystem.
