On September 15, Samsung officially launched One UI 8 (Android 16) for many Galaxy devices. What's special is that One UI 7 was only launched less than 5 months ago, showing that the company is shortening the software update cycle to bring new experiences to users faster.
Before the widespread deployment, One UI 8 went through many months of beta testing on the Galaxy S25 series, along with a shorter beta period for some other devices, such as the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy A55. Most of the remaining Galaxy models will be upgraded directly from One UI 7 to One UI 8 without participating in the beta.
List of Galaxy devices that have started receiving the One UI 8 update
- Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge

Samsung says the update will be rolled out in phases, not across all markets at once. For example, the Galaxy S25 series was the first to receive the update in South Korea, and it took about two days for it to expand to other regions.
The list of devices will continue to be added as Samsung expands the rollout. Users can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check manually.
