The upcoming One UI 8 update not only upgrades the operating system but also brings a series of major improvements to Good Lock - Samsung's powerful customization tool for Galaxy users. The modules in Good Lock are refreshed with many useful features and interface improvements, allowing for deeper device personalization than ever. Here is a detailed list of the major changes.

Home Up - Advanced Home Screen Customization

Samsung has released the One UI 8 update for Home Up, allowing for customization of the home screen and application opening/closing effects. The DIY screen editor has been added with new features such as: layout alignment (Alignment Guidelines), enabling/disabling motion effects, grouping/ungrouping items, and locking elements to avoid accidental editing.

Users can also link apps to animated stickers, hide page indicators for a cleaner interface, choose the app opening style (full screen, pop-up, split), adjust the blur effect when opening/exiting apps, and more.

MultiStar and LockStar – Elevating the foldable phone experience

MultiStar receives the One UI 8 update with the Flip Shot feature exclusively for the Z Flip series. Users can display photos, text, or stickers on the secondary screen when taking selfies with the mirror. In addition, widgets on the outer screen of the foldable can be flexibly resized. LockStar is updated to support custom fingerprint effects when unlocking.

One Hand Operation+, Camera Assistant, and Display Assistant are also upgraded

One Hand Operation+ can now work simultaneously with system swipes, and adding/removing action bars is also more convenient. Camera Assistant allows you to customize the sound when taking motion photos. Meanwhile, Display Assistant adds a “screen curtain” option when double-clicking the side button, and improves the split-screen interface on tablets and flip phones.

KeysCafe, Routines+, Wonderland, and other modules

KeysCafe gets a complete UI refresh, adding a keyboard usage statistics panel, customizable swipe gestures with color and image effects. Routines+ supports creating time-specific reminders via Now Brief. Samsung says it will have its own solution for devices that don’t support this feature yet.

Theme Park adds new icon styles such as Glass, Film Grain, and Gradient. Wonderland upgrades the blur effect during lock screen transitions, supporting horizontal or vertical blur. NavStar allows customizing the back arrow icon.

Finally, Galaxy to Share (GTS) – the feature that allows you to share Good Lock settings between Galaxy devices – has received a revamped interface and photo editing templates, although it has yet to be released globally.

Samsung has confirmed that it will release Good Lock updates compatible with One UI 8 in the coming days. The official One UI 8 update is expected to be widely rolled out starting in August.
