Samsung continues to accelerate the development of One UI 8 Watch by releasing the second beta for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. Just a week after the beta program was opened, users have a new update with many significant performance improvements and some important bug fixes.
This One UI 8 Watch Beta 2, discovered by Aptivi, brings two notable changes. The first is an overall performance optimisation, making the watch operations smoother and more responsive during daily use. The second is a fix for a time-related bug that causes the watch to display incorrectly when DST (daylight saving time) is enabled.
The new firmware also comes with the October 2025 security patch. Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro users participating in the beta program in Korea can update to version ZYK4 via the Galaxy Wearable app. Unfortunately, the beta program is still limited to Samsung's domestic market, so users in other regions will have to wait for the stable version.
Speaking of stable versions, Samsung plans to release One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch 6 this month, followed by the Watch 5. The Watch 4 and Watch FE models are also eligible for the Wear OS 6 upgrade, although they'll likely get the final version instead of the beta.
One UI 8 Watch, which debuted on the Galaxy Watch 8, focuses on improving the overall experience: faster performance, smoother animations, better battery life, and smarter health tracking. Users will see apps open faster, scrolling more naturally, and health data presented more intuitively at a glance.
