Before the official launch of the One UI 8 Watch update, Samsung has just released a new security patch for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic series, providing more stability and security for users while waiting for the next major upgrade.
According to the record, the update has the code IYI1, including the August 2025 security patch. Although it is not the latest patch, it still handles many serious vulnerabilities, helping the device operate more smoothly and stably. The update is currently deployed in Korea and is expected to expand to other markets in the next few days.
Users can update directly on the watch by going to Settings > Software update, or via the Galaxy Wearable app on the phone. If you have not received a notification, you just need to wait a few more days, because Samsung often releases OTA in batches.
Although there are no new features, this is an important preparation step before the official launch of One UI 8 Watch. This version is built on Wear OS 6, which is currently in beta testing for the Galaxy Watch 6 series. The Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5, Watch 4, and Watch FE are expected to all receive this major update before the end of 2025.
Launched in August 2021, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic have just turned four years old – a memorable milestone for the smartwatch line that opened the Wear OS era in collaboration between Samsung and Google. One UI 8 Watch is expected to be the last operating system upgrade for these two devices, but users will continue to receive regular security patches in the future.
