Samsung continues to roll out the October 2025 security patch for a series of Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 FE series. This update fixes system vulnerabilities and improves the overall stability of the device.

In the Asian region, including Malaysia and Vietnam, Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra users have started receiving the OTA update with a capacity of more than 400MB. The new firmware code for the S22 series is GYJ1, while the Galaxy S23 FE has also been updated in many markets in Asia and Europe, with version number S711BXXSBFYJ1.

According to the note, this update does not add new features but focuses on enhancing system security, patching more than 30 high-severity vulnerabilities discovered this month. These patches have also been applied to higher-end devices like the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25, showing that Samsung is maintaining a very consistent security update schedule across the Galaxy ecosystem.

Users can manually check by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the download is complete, the device will ask to reboot to complete the installation. For newer Galaxy models like the S25 series, the update is done seamlessly in the background and only requires a quick reboot, while older models will automatically power off and reboot after a few minutes with the new software version.
