Samsung is accelerating the rollout of new software for Galaxy devices. While the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy A53 is still more than 20 days away, users in India have already started receiving the September 2025 security patch.

According to an update from Akhilesh Kumar, the Galaxy A53 in India is being upgraded with firmware A536EXXSHFYI4. This update is still based on One UI 7, but comes with important security patches.

Specifically, the September 2025 patch addresses 58 high-severity Android vulnerabilities, two critical bugs, and one bug in the Exynos chip due to cache copying. In addition, Samsung also fixed 25 separate security vulnerabilities (SVEs) affecting Galaxy devices such as phones, tablets, and smartwatches.

Galaxy A53 users in India can update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Before updating, make sure your phone has enough battery and a stable Wi-Fi connection.

According to the official roadmap shared earlier, the Galaxy A53 will receive One UI 8 on October 16. This will also be the last major upgrade for the device, after which only regular security patches will be available. Since it was launched in March 2022, the Galaxy A53 will most likely still be updated to One UI 8.5, which has started to leak quite a lot recently.
