Three weeks after launching the One UI 8 Beta program for the Galaxy A36, Samsung has unexpectedly ended the testing phase and released the stable One UI 8.0 update for the Galaxy A36. This is also the first major Android upgrade for this model and will soon be widely deployed globally in the coming weeks.
The Galaxy A36 in Korea has now received the One UI 8.0 update based on Android 16 with firmware version A366NKSU2BYI9, along with the September 2025 security patch. Users in other markets may soon receive a similar update.
This update brings many new features and improvements, such as a more intuitive interface for Quick Share, redesigned Samsung Internet and My Files, as well as added advanced management features for Alarm, Calendar, and Reminder. In addition, One UI 8.0 also enhances interface customization, security, and privacy.
Galaxy A36 users in South Korea can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install, then select Install now to start the process. The device will reboot once, and you will have the latest One UI 8.0 experience.
Samsung originally planned to release the stable One UI 8.0 for the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 in October 2025. However, the company has rolled out the update earlier than expected, as both models have already received the update in South Korea.
Samsung has also confirmed that the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 will continue to receive 5 more major Android upgrades in the future.
