Samsung continues to expand the August 2025 security update coverage for mid-range devices. After releasing patches for many other models, the company has now released them for the Galaxy A14 and Galaxy A26, bringing important security improvements. Users of these two models will soon receive update notifications in the next few days, depending on the region.
The August 2025 patch, also known as the Security Maintenance Release (SMR), addresses a total of 47 vulnerabilities from Google and Samsung, including critical vulnerabilities related to Samsung Account, Emergency SOS, sensor services on the Galaxy Watch, and many other system components. These are important patches to help make devices more secure against new security attacks.
Specifically, the Galaxy A14 is starting to receive updates in the Asian market with version A145FXXSADYH2, while the Galaxy A26 is being updated first in Europe with build A266BXXS4AYG9. In the near future, other regions around the world will also receive this patch in turn. Users can check and download via Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Launched in early 2023, the Galaxy A14 has stopped receiving major operating system upgrades. The device shipped with Android 13 and One UI 5, then upgraded to Android 15 with One UI 7. However, users will still receive regular security patches for at least 4 years, that is, until early 2027.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A26 has a much better support roadmap. Launching in 2025 with One UI 7, the device is guaranteed by Samsung for 6 major OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches. That means the Galaxy A26 will be upgraded to Android 21 and will maintain regular security until 2031. The first major upgrade will be One UI 8, expected to launch later this year or early 2026.
